YBhg Dato’ Shahrol Anuwar bin Sarman was appointed as a Member of Corporation (MOC) on 20 October 2023.

YBhg Dato’ Shahrol Anuwar is currently the Director of the National Budget Office, Ministry of Finance (MOF). He began his career as an Assistant Secretary in 1996 at the Loans Management and Finance Policy Division in the MOF.

In 2003, YBhg Dato’ Shahrol Anuwar became the Assistant Director at the Human Resource Management and Administration Division (Head of the Finance and Account Unit) for Anti-Corruption Agency Malaysia. In 2004, he was appointed as the Principal Assistant Secretary of the Timber Industry Division under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities where he served for 2 years. He then served for one year as the Senior Principal Assistant Secretary of the Administration and Finance Division at Melaka's Chief Minister Department.

Prior to becoming the Special Officer to the Secretary General of Treasury in 2011, YBhg Dato’ Shahrol Anuwar was appointed as Senior Private Secretary to the Secretary General of Treasury from 2007 until 2011. He was later appointed as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of the World Bank Group in Washington D.C., USA from 2012 to 2014.

In 2014, YBhg Dato' Shahrol Anuwar became the Senior Private Secretary to the Secretary General of the Treasury where he served for 3 years. He was then appointed as an Undersecretary to the Statutory Bodies Strategic Management Division, MOF from 2017 until 2019. He was also appointed as an Undersecretary to the Strategic Investment Division, MOF from 2019 until 2022.

YBhg Dato' Shahrol Anuwar currently sits on the Board of Directors at several Government-linked companies including FGV Holdings Berhad, MARA Corporation Sdn Bhd, Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA), Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor (LPJ), Perbadanan Putrajaya and Alternate Director of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) representing MOF.

YBhg Dato’ Shahrol Anuwar holds a Master in Business Administration from Cardiff University, Wales, UK and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance as well as Diploma in Banking from Universiti Teknologi MARA.
