Encik Zahran Tasliman is presently the Head of Governance and Assurance at PR1MA Corporation Malaysia. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of Head of Internal Audit. Under his purview, he was responsible for streamlining the overall operations of PR1MA’s internal audit ensuring to follow through with the International Standards of the Professional Practice of Internal Audit (ISPPIA). His continuous contribution has elevated the quality of the internal audit capacity building and professionalism of PR1MA.
Encik Zahran began his career at Johor Corporation Group (formerly known as Perbadanan Kemajuan Ekonomi Negeri Johor – PKENJ) as an accountant in 1994 and was exposed to unit trust, asset management and stockbroker operations. He was then seconded to PT Arya Shinta Sekuritas, JCorp’s subsidiary in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1999 for two years. He then joined Group Corporate Assurance of JCorp in July 2001 upon his return from Indonesia. Amongst the projects he led was internal audit services engagement for a few listed companies within JCorp Group mainly involving plantation, property, healthcare and intrapreneur ventures. The services include Corporate Governance and Internal Control System review, and Enterprise Risk Management process implementation. His last position with the conglomerate was as the General Manager, Internal Audit of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd.
Encik Zahran holds a degree in Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Integrity Officer (CeIO) and has the Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA), as well as a professional member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Malaysia and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). He served as the Board of Governors of IIA Malaysia for 2012/2015 term. He had also served in the Rejimen Askar Wataniah, the Malaysian Army’s reserve force under the 1st Battalion of Rej 501 (AW) based in Kem Tebrau, Johor Bahru until 2018.
